Jonah swerved into the turn lane and cars got out of the way, his lights warning them it was police business. He raced to Riley’s warehouse and had his door open before the engine even stopped completely. Drawing his gun, he knew he had to take things slow. The warehouse door hung open, the top hinge broken as if someone had ripped it off. Heart racing, Jonah started inside, alert and ready for anything. Not even the rats dared to break the unearthly silence as he crept along the dark hall. When he reached the main door for Riley’s loft, he found it unlocked.
